PrecisionXProductions is providing a two-day, Introduction to Precision Shooting, course. This course will be held at 1767 Bender Road Billings, MT. This course is intended for the individual who is new to the precision shooting world. The instruction will provide you the basic knowledge, information and skills to begin your journey into long range shooting. 


Day one will be conducted in the classroom as we discuss the components of a precision rifle. Instructors will demonstrate and teach you how to break down and rebuild your rifle. We will discuss proper rifle fitment and ensure your rifle fits you properly. Weapon manipulation along with the usage of MOA and Mill will be discussed and how to properly use them during engagements. Instruction on ballistic calculators and Kestrels will teach you how to properly enter rifle, bullet and environmental data into your ballistic calculator. Properly zeroing a rifle will be discussed along with addressing the rifle and the fundamentals of marksmanship. 


Day two of the course will be held mostly outside on the range. We will begin the day with sighting in the rifle. Live fire build and breaks on the zero range will be conducted along with the practice of applying the fundamentals of marksmanship. Ballistic data will be obtained for each student and entered into their ballistic software. After Long range data is obtained, students will then continue to practice engaging targets at extended ranges. The usage of timed build and breaks will be utilized to induce stress into the training to further promote better performance.

  • Gear list (minimal gear will be available by the instructor, so please bring the necessary equipment, 30 cals exceeding 3200 fps, armor piercing and tracer rounds are not allowed)

  • Precision rifle capable of 1 moa accuracy with mounted scope and bipods

  • 150 rounds of match grade ammo

  • Binos or spotter

  • Ballistic software app, kestrel (Hornady 4dof will be utilized by the instructor)

  • Ear and eye protection
